Golden Globes 2026: Teyana Taylor, Hailee Steinfeld and More Best Dressed Celebrities
We come to the Golden Globes for humor.
Indeed, that’s exactly the mindset Nikki Glaser had while hosting the awards show Jan. 11 at the Beverly Hilton hotel for the second year in a row, which inspired her to introduce the inaugural Best Podcast category with a spoof of Nicole Kidman’s viral AMC Theaters ad.
“We come to our cars for podcasts,” she started dressed in Nicole’s signature gray and silver suit, “because we need that, all of us. That indescribable feeling when the episode starts to play.”
But instead of an episode playing, the podcast is interrupted by an advertisement, which Nikki tried desperately—and unsuccessfully—to skip through.
Nikki then proceeded to make fun of the nominated podcasts—Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, Good Hang with Amy Poehler, Smartless, The Mel Robbins Podcast and Up First—by featuring clips of “riveting conversations” from the shows.
“What time do you like to eat dinner?” Amy Poehler asked her guest Gwyneth Paltrow, who responded, “I did 5:45 last night.”
“Incredible,” Amy reacted, with Gwyneth agreeing, “I know.”
Nikki then ended her AMC bit with the tagline, “Podcasts: They’re just what we have now.”
As the audience erupted in laughter, Snoop Dogg took the stage to present the first-ever Golden Globe for Best Podcast, which ended up going to Good Hang with Amy Poehler.

“Wow, thanks. This is exactly how I pictured it—Snoop, giving me the award,” Amy began her acceptance speech, before quipping, “I don’t know about award shows, but when they get it right, it makes sense.”
The Saturday Night Live alum also used her speech to acknowledge her fellow nominees.
“I just want to say that I know I am new to this game,” she continued. “I have great respect for this form. I have great respect for all the people that I am nominated with.”
“I’m big fans of all of you,” Amy added, making one hilarious exception,”except for NPR. Just a bunch of celebs phoning it in. So, try harder.”
In the end, though, she explained the heartbeat behind her podcast.
“This is an attempt to try to make a very rough and unkind world filled with a little bit more love and laughter and laughing with people, not at them,” Amy shared. “We just have such a good time making it. And thank you so much for letting us make more.”
