Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt Welcome First Baby

There’s an extra special meaning behind the name of Pete Davidson’s daughter.

The Saturday Night Live alum and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt shared that they welcomed Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson on Dec. 12, with the newborn’s name paying tribute to Pete’s father.

Scottie is named after Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died while responding to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers in 2001 when Pete was 7 years old

Scott’s passing had a huge impact on Pete, who has called his dad a “legend” and a “hero.”

The baby girl’s name also includes a few other nods to her parents, as Rose is Elsie’s middle name. Plus, she was given both of her parents’ last names to keep their family legacies going

Elsie—who’d confirmed she and Pete were expecting a baby together in July—posted several photos of Scottie to Instagram Dec. 18, covering her daughter’s face with a white heart and writing that she and Pete had welcomed their “perfect angel girl.”

“My best work yet,” the 29-year-old added. “I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief.”

She also included a cheeky message from Pete in her caption, which read, “Wu tang forever.”

And it wasn’t just the couple who were overjoyed by the latest addition to their family, as Pete’s sister Casey Davidson also shared her excitement.

“The most perfect girl to exist!!!!!” she wrote in the Instagram comments, resharing the post to her own Instagram Stories and writing, “Auntie mode activated.”

As for Pete, the 32-year-old previously told E! News that he felt “very lucky and very, very happy” about becoming a father, adding that he was eager to “take care of something and show it the childhood I didn’t have.”

“I assume you just try to give them what you didn’t have,” he explained, “and what you didn’t like, not do it.”

Pete also shared that fatherhood was something he’d been hoping for ever since childhood.

“It’s been my dream since I was little, which is cool,” he told E!. “When you have dreams when you’re little and then you get older, sometimes those feelings change—that didn’t change for me.”
