Cyber Monday holds a place in our hearts as an internet superstar at a time when nearly no one shopped online. While that’s no longer the case, we’re keeping the tradition alive—and so are brands and retailers. Cyber Monday and its big sister sale holiday Black Friday have now combined into Cyber Week.
Cyber Week is a week-long event (although let’s be honest, it’s creeping longer and longer) where our favorite stores have the best discounts and deals. We take advantage of the limited-time sales to save money and buy all the gifts for the holidays left on our wishlist or to invest in that product we’ve been eyeing all year long.
While we still have a week or so until Cyber Monday, there’s no better time to prep! In fact, some retailers have even started their Cyber Monday and Black Friday sale extra early this year. What is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday launched in 2005 to celebrate big sales and exclusive deals for online retailers and brands. There, brands that didn’t have physical locations or store-fronts could promote big sales and exclusive deals.
In those years, Black Friday was known as an in-person store event. These two promo events were separate, one for physical spaces and one for online. As Black Friday moves further into the online realm, Cyber Monday acts as an extension. They are now known by the portmanteau, “Cyber Week.”
When is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday takes place on the Monday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday. In 2025, Cyber Monday falls on December 1. During this day, Black Friday sales are either extended, or whole new Cyber Monday sales begin. We’d recommend always checking the time to see when a sale ends (if it’s available) and referencing your timezone to make sure you never miss a deal.
How Can I Find the Best Cyber Monday Deals?
Finding the best deals is a full-time job! Luckily, it’s quite literally ours. You can check E! Online before and on Cyber Monday as we update you on only the best-of-the-best sales.
That being said, if you’re looking for huge discounts, we’d recommend checking big retailers like Amazon and Walmart. But if you’re a fan of indie brands, they have sales going on too—they’re just gonna be in the 20-30% off spectrum. It really depends on what you’re looking for!
