SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Tuesday is feeling a bit cloudier, cooler and breezier as a closed off low pushes inland from the west mid-week.

This system isn’t much of a rain maker for us with the expectation of marine-layer induced drizzle and patchy morning fog.

As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, you might see some virga along the coast as the low migrates east over Southern California. Rain might be falling but likely evaporating before it reaches the ground. A few sprinkles are possible on your Wednesday morning commute as well as lower visibility due to patchy fog.

Low cloud cover looks to life early afternoon along the immediate coast line with temperatures in the low 70s for the coast and mountains and mid 70s for the valleys. Winds will really pick up into the afternoon hours tomorrow past 1 p.m. with gusts up to 22 MPH for the coast and valleys and up to 30 MPH for the mountains and deserts.

Westerly winds will be stronger as this low moves right on top of us and heads out to the northeast where it’ll bring some spotty mountain rain and snow showers to the central and south Sierra.

Thursday will be drier and warmer and that trend is expected into the weekend under weak ridging of high pressure. An even bigger warm up is in store for Monday and Tuesday of next week with models suggesting afternoon highs in the mid to upper-70s for the coast and mid to upper 80s for the valleys.

In two weeks, we will observe the end of daylight saving time and “fall back” an hour with the time change. On Nov. 2, the sun will rise at 6:07 a.m. and set at 4:56 p.m. in San Diego.
