SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A child was taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Mission Bay Park Sunday evening, San Diego Police report.

San Diego Police officers responded to calls around 5 p.m. in the 2700 block of De Anza Road in Mission Bay Park for a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian.

The police department said a 4-year-old boy riding a bicycle was hit by a vehicle and was conscious and breathing when officers arrived. He was then taken to the hospital with abrasions.

The San Diego Police Department is investigating the cause and circumstances of the collision.
