SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A deputy-involved shooting happened at an hours-long SWAT standoff at a home in Santee, authorities have confirmed.

San Diego County Sheriff deputies surrounded a home near the intersection of Carlton Hills Boulevard and Mission George Road in Santee from around noon until nearly 7 p.m. Sunday after receiving calls for a man who was reportedly making threats with a weapon.

The sheriff’s department said in an update Sunday evening there had been a deputy-involved shooting but did not immediately release any additional details.

Both Willowgrove Avenue and Gorge Avenue have been closed to traffic throughout the ongoing standoff.
