Keanu Reeves’ Girlfriend Alexandra Grant Responds to Marriage Rumors
Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant aren’t in a simulated reality—it’s real love.
One week after shutting down rumors that they had privately gotten married, the Matrix actor and artist shared a special red carpet moment in New York City.
While attending the opening night of Jamie Lloyd’s Broadway production of Waiting for Godot Sept. 28, Keanu and Alexandra held hands as they smiled and posed together outside of the Hudson Theatre.
Beyond their physical connection on the carpet, the pair proved they were also in sync in the wardrobe department, with Alexandra donning a short-sleeved black dress and Keanu wearing a black suit jacket with gray pinstriped slacks and matching tie.
The couple’s Broadway outing marks their first since dispelling claims last week that they had secretly wed. While Keanu’s publicist confirmed to E! News Sept. 22 that the rumors were “not true,” Alexandra made sure to have fun when responding to the “fake news.”
“This is a real photo,” she wrote on Instagram Sept. 24 alongside a picture of her kissing the John Wick actor at an art installation. “Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss! (Albeit maybe the moment right before or after it… given the slightly goofy expressions on our faces!)”
Plus, Alexandra—who started dating Keanu in 2018 before making their red carpet debut in 2019—used the heartwarming photo as an opportunity to put an end to the rumors and caution against online spam.

“I’m sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married,” she continued. “Good news is much needed these days, but it’s still fake news, so be careful out there! So, here’s a bit of real happiness!”
