Using drone, Oceanside PD locates car thought to be stolen thumbnail

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A couple in Oceanside, saying they were celebrating their 20th anniversary, had quite the scare this week thinking their car had been stolen.

According to the Oceanside Police Department, the couple promptly called to report the missing car. After exchanging necessary information, a drone was deployed to search for the vehicle. Minutes later the drone operator found the car in a lot where the couple had parked it.

The couple, standing in a nearby lot while communicating with the 911 operator, then walked over and discovered the car was where they had left it, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

The Oceanside Police Department saying on Facebook, “We’re glad we could bring peace of mind on their special day.”
