SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — More than a dozen units responded to a San Diego shipyard after a fire broke out on a ship Saturday evening.

The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI firefighters were battling a fire on a ship in the NASSCO shipyard on East Harbor Drive in Barrio Logan Saturday night.

The first calls went out for a marine fire around 7 p.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Harbor Drive.

The fire-rescue department said they were assisting other agencies in getting the fire under control.

The NASSCO shipyard is a Master Ship Repair contractor for the U.S. Navy, located along San Diego Bay.

It is unclear at this time if there were any injuries.
