SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI)– What could be better than watching a compilation of cat videos?

Well, the Media Arts Center in San Diego may have the answer to that question with CatVideoFest 2025, the world’s No. 1 cat video festival. The furry festival brings kitty compilations to the big screen in August at the Digital Gym Cinema in East Village off Market Street.

Across the country, local theaters partner with nearby cat charities, animal welfare associations, and shelters each year to make the event happen.

Presented by Oscilloscope Laboratories, CatVideoFest 2025 is a compilation of the latest and greatest cat videos pulled from a plethora of different types of footage, including sourced animations, music videos and online media. The footage is compiled and delivered to select U.S. theatres as a 73-minute montage of cuteness.

The first screening in East Village airs Saturday, Aug. 2, with ticket prices costing $14 for regular admission, $12 for students and seniors, and $10 for members. Tickets are already sold out for the Aug. 2 showtime, but you can still purchase tickets for the Saturday, Aug. 9 screening at 2 p.m.

Just when it can’t get any better, it does.

Los Gatos de Barrio Logan

A portion of the proceeds goes directly to helping local cats in need. For the screening in East Village, 10 percent of the proceeds will go to supporting Los Gatos de Barrio Logan, a community of caregivers in the Logan Heights area who are dedicated to feeding and caring for street kitties.

Tickets are selling out quickly, so buy them soon to reserve your ‘purr-fect’ seat!
