Dezeen Showroom: designed by Jean-Marie Massaud for Spanish outdoor furniture brand Vondom, the Pasadena collection was designed to bring the refinement of interiors outside.
The Pasadena collection features a modular sofa as well as a lounge chair, side table and sun lounger that use the same visual language.
The collection is based on Massaud’s vision for a sofa that would attain the perfect balance between lightness of line and a sense of generous comfort.
“This balance is the key to timelessness,” said Massaud. “The ambition of Pasadena is to take an archetype and transform it into something of architectural proportions, but with a large dose of comfort.”
The Pasadena collection is intended to look at home indoors but withstand the outdoors. To that end, it is constructed with a resilient aluminium frame, weatherproof polyurethane foam seats and technical fabric upholstery.
“With this creation, Jean-Marie Massaud unfolds a serene and joyful universe, where comfort does not sacrifice aesthetics, nor does aesthetics take precedence over functionality,” said Vondom.
