Love on the Spectrum’s Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman Give Update on Baby Plans

Abbey Romeo is hoping to celebrate with a glass of chardonnay.

The Love of the Spectrum star could not help but share her excitement over the Netflix series’ five 2025 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program and Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program.

“I was at my house,” Abbey exclusively told E! News’ Francesca Amiker, “and I heard that Love on the Spectrum was nominated for five Emmys.”

The 27-year-old added that she was “very happy” the show was getting the recognition, especially because she felt like she and the rest of cast “did the work.”

Of course, Abbey is definitely hoping they will be going home with a few awards so she can celebrate “by having a glass of wine.”

She joked, “We’re all going to get drunk and party.”

And being on such a groundbreaking show—which has previously won five Emmys—has been absolutely life changing for Abbey.

Love on the Spectrum is about people with autism,” she shared. “And a lot of people with autism are being seen and heard.”

She continued, “Back in the day, no one understood autism, and that’s why I got very angry.”

As Abbey explained, she used to be upset about her diagnosis, and instead thought of herself as “a typical kid, because I wanted to be average.”

But after spending three seasons on the show, she now feels “part of a group.”

“Proud for who I am,” she said, “and how far I’ve come.”

And beyond feeling more comfortable with herself, the show also brought love into her life by introducing her to her boyfriend of four years, David Isaacman, whom Abbey serenaded with her new song “Boyfriend Forever” during season three.

“It meant so much to him,” Abbey said of the song. “It’s about how David has a different kind of autism than I do, and it’s about how I want him to be my boyfriend forever.”

But the duo are definitely not in a rush to get married, as Abbey shared that the two feel like “we’re married on the inside already.”

And being with David, 30, has also helped Abbey develop a better understanding of herself: “It makes me feel accepted for who I am now these days.”
