Ayesha Curry Shares Rare Insight Into Her and Stephen Curry’s Home Life With 4 Kids
Ayesha Curry’s definition of an all-star life has changed over the years.
In fact, the celebrity chef—who shares kids Riley, 14, Ryan, 10, Canon, 7, and Caius, 13 months, with husband Stephen Curry, 37—revealed she wasn’t interested in starting a family before meeting the NBA player.
“I didn’t want kids. I didn’t want to get married,” Ayesha, 36, shared on the Aug. 20 episode of Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast. “I thought I was gonna be a career girl and that’s it. I had my eyes set on my goals. I was never the little girl that dreamt about the wedding dress and all of that. And then it happened so early in my life.”
Indeed, the couple became close at a young age. They first met as teens in 2003 and started dating five years later, when they relocated from North Carolina to California to focus on their careers. At the time, Ayesha was 19 while Stephen was 20. The duo tied the knot in 2011, nearly two years after he was drafted to the NBA.
Though their timeline was quick, the Ayesha’s Homemade host didn’t have any hesitations on making their relationship official.
“I say this all the time to our family,” she explained. “Not one, not a single parent, was like, ‘Hey guys, are you sure?’ Everybody was like, ‘No, this is what’s happening, we love you and it’s gonna be great.’”
And as she and the Golden State Warriors point guard settled in their marriage, Ayesha noted her career took a backseat once they started having kids.
“After we got married, we found out we were pregnant with our daughter so quickly,” she continued. “I didn’t even have time to think about what I wanted anymore. It’s so interesting. I spent my entire life trying to work towards something and then it kind of just disappeared. I didn’t think twice about it.”

However, as Riley got older, Ayesha made time to focus on her aspirations.
“I remember there being a shift and being like, ‘I have goals for myself. This doesn’t feel right,’” she reflected on her past thoughts. “‘I love being a mom, but I love doing other things too, and I need to get my s–t together and figure out what that looks like for myself now.’”

“I want our girls to grow up knowing that there are no boundaries that can be placed on their futures, period,” he wrote for The Player’s Tribune. “I want them to grow up in a world where their gender does not feel like a rulebook for what they should think, or be, or do. And I want them to grow up believing that they can dream big, and strive for careers where they’ll be treated fairly. And of course: paid equally.”

“I’m such a passionate fan. I can’t help myself,” she shared on E! News’ Daily Pop in 2017. “I’m such a fan.”
