Belgian architectural studio Hé! added a timber extension to a home on the outskirts of Brussels, designed to draw in natural light and support a mature wisteria tree.

Commenters shared mixed reactions to the project, with one describing it as “a warm project full of soul”. At the same time, another partly agreed, noting, “The front facade is very unsuccessful, kinda feels like a clean, but rushed, extension”.

Other stories in this week’s newsletter that sparked debate included a feature questioning whether we’re living in the twilight of the smartphone, plans for Vilnius Airport terminal by Zaha Hadid Architects and a boat-shaped concept store in Shanghai by Louis Vuitton.
