Alec Baldwin’s Daughter Ireland Reveals Her “Rules” for Nepo Babies
Ireland Baldwin is recognizing what her mama (and papa) gave her.
After her mom Kim Basinger gave Alec Baldwin a special birthday shoutout alongside a throwback clip from the pair’s 1991 movie The Marrying Man, the model gave them props for her good looks.
“That’s my parents!” Ireland, 30, wrote in the comments of Kim’s April 3 Instagram post. “That’s why I’m so smokin HOT.”
In the clip, Kim and Alec—who played Vicki Anderson and Charley Pearl respectively in the film—can be seen acting out one of many of their onscreen breakups throughout the film. And in honor of the rom-com’s 35th anniversary, Kim detailed how the project left a lasting mark on her heart.
“Maybe Vicky and Charlie lived happily ever after,” she captioned the post. “But in real life there is a phrase called “OTHER PLANS………This coming Sunday will mark the 35th anniversary of THE MARRYING MAN….A very special time in my life that I will be forever grateful for.”
“The years have passed and time has done its wonders,” she added. “I will also say that today is Alec Baldwin’s birthday…A big happy birthday to Alec my costar…..Wishing him health… laughter…. and many more wonderful years with family and friends……always.”

And Alec—who met Kim on the movie’s set before finalizing their divorce in 2002—couldn’t have been more touched by the Batman actress’ touching words.
“This is remarkably kind and completely unexpected,” the 68-year-old wrote in the post’s comments section. “Thank you, Vicky Vale, for my birthday wishes.”
Though Alec—who also share kids Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leo, 9, Romeo, 7, Eduardo, 5, Maria, 5, and Ilaria, 2, with wife Hilaria Baldwin—and Kim are on better terms today, the Blind Date actress previously opened up about how difficult their split was on their family.
“Divorce is hard on a kid, no matter how you cut it,” she told Net-A-Porter’s The Edit in 2016. “And ours was very public and nasty.”

The 72-year-old explained that the experience led her to bring up Ireland “in a very unconventional way.”
“I just wanted her to be free,” Kim shared. “If she wanted to have her friends over and write over the walls with a pen, that was fine. I wanted her childhood to be full of love and light and animals and friends.”
Despite the difficulty of their divorce—which included a lengthy custody battle over Ireland—Kim recently revealed that she and Alec are in a good place with each other.
“Alec and I have a great relationship,” she told Variety in February 2025. “I have great respect for where he is today, and his family.”

Mama Baldwin
Their father died at the age of 55 in 1983 but Carol—who survived a 1991 breast cancer diagnosis—lived until she was 92. She passed away May 26, 2022, with 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and an eponymous cancer research foundation to her name.
“My mother taught me about second acts. And third ones, too,” Alec wrote in tribute when she died. “She spent the last 25 years of her life as a fighter and a champion for the cause to which she devoted so much energy.”

While they were friends for a decade, it was after a rather whirlwind romance that Hailey wed Justin Bieber in a no-frills New York courthouse ceremony on Sept. 13, 2018.
They further sealed the deal with more lavish nuptials in South Carolina on Sept. 30, 2019, allowing dad Stephen to walk the bride down the aisle and sister Alaia and cousin Ireland to serve as a bridesmaids.
While she swapped her maiden name for her similarly famous married name soon after she and Justin legally wed, it wasn’t a decision Hailey took lightly.
“It took some getting used to, for sure,” she told Bustle in 2019. “It’s definitely strange, it takes adjusting.”
Growing up a Baldwin, she added, “I’m very proud of my family name. I come from a great family with a history in this industry.”
The couple revealed in May 2024 that Hailey was pregnant with their first child together.
