June “Mama June” Shannon has an update on her health.

The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum revealed that she has experienced some medical issues in the last year.

“I had a total hysterectomy unexpectedly last year—last April. It was not expected,” Mama June told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea March 3. “It was a scare for me because I did have some fibroid cysts that went to separated cysts, and we had a little scare.”

And the 46-year-old admitted her concerns were heightened after the 2023 death of her daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell following her battle with cancer.

“Me, in my mind, going through what Anna went through, I was worried it was going to be ovarian cancer,” she continued. “I even told the [other] kids that. I was in my head for a long time.”

Since then, Mama June—also mom to Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird and Jessica Shannon—shared she has been “still dealing” with undisclosed “medical issues” that are “totally separate” from the menopause she is also experiencing.

“Some days are a struggle for me, but it’s nothing like [cancer],” she explained. “I tell people, ‘We know it’s not ever gonna kill me, but it could immobilize me.’”

Beyond the Mama June: Family Crisis star’s health issues, she and her daughters have also supported each other while coping with Anna’s death.

“I definitely think some days are better than others, if I’m being honest,” Pumpkin told Virtual Reali-Tea in the family’s joint interview. “I still catch myself, sometimes late at night if I’m scrolling TikTok, going to Anna’s page, watching her old videos.”

Jessica added, “Or when you play games that y’all used to play together, like Monopoly. Every time, her face pops up.”

As for Honey Boo Boo herself? She thinks of Anna whenever Warren Zeiders’ song “Pretty Little Poison” is on.

“It plays literally every time in the car without a shadow of a doubt,” Alana shared. “I let it play all the way through. You can’t skip it.”
