Gwyneth Paltrow, part of the nominated Marty Supreme ensemble, made a stunning return to the 2026 Actor Awards, having last attended what was formerly called the SAG Awards in 2000.

Gwyneth Paltrow waited for a supreme occasion to make her grand return to the Actor Awards.
That is, an occasion in addition to the show—which was called the SAG Awards up until this year—having a theme, “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the ’20s and ’30s,” which brought out some of the most glam fashion of awards season so far.
The 53-year-old of course rose to the occasion in a lacy black Givenchy gown with a plunging neckline, her hair chicly pulled back in a style reminiscent of her famous 1999 Oscar night ‘do. Her turquoise drop earrings were by Belperron.
But back to the matter at hand, Paltrow attended the ceremony for the first time since 2000 (the 6th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards) as part of the ensemble from Marty Supreme, which is vying for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture against the principal players from One Battle After Another, Frankenstein, Hamlet and Sinners. When Paltrow last appeared at this particular ceremony, it was as defending champion in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her romantic, English-accented turn as Violet in Shakespeare In Love. She also shared in the cast’s big win, a precursor to her own Best Actress triumph and the film being named Best Picture on Oscar night.

Marty Supreme, in which Paltrow played a revered but fading star of the silent movie era who attracts the attention of Timothée Chalamet‘s ambitious table tennis whiz, marked her first big-screen role since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, and first appearance in a non-Marvel film since 2015’s Mortdecai. (Her voice could be heard in 2022’s She Said.)
Her performance in Marty Supreme, which is also nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture, proved that she has lost no steps in the acting department despite putting the biz on the back burner while she focused on building her Goop brand.
