Sophia Grace Brownlee is reflecting on her motherhood journey.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show alum—who is mom to son River, 3, and daughter Athena Rose, 13 months—got candid about her experience raising kids, particularly as a young parent.

“I was quite young when I had River,” she said during an appearance on the Feb. 25 episode of the Private Story podcast. “I was 19, which I do feel like is quite young, but I don’t regret doing anything because I’m happy with where I am now.”

Now 22, the YouTuber argued that age is just one factor to consider when it comes to family planning.

“It’s obviously young to have kids, but I don’t really think there’s a right age to have kids,” she explained. “As long as you’re ready and you’re mature enough, that’s all that matters.”

Of course, Sophia Grace acknowledged that she and her longtime partner—whose identity she has kept private—have the means to provide for their little ones, noting that she’s benefited from being financially stable.

“If I wasn’t, I would have been struggling a lot,” she admitted, “so I’m blessed to have been in that situation.”

After giving birth to River in 2023, Sophia Grace announced her second pregnancy the following year, sharing her excitement for her son to have a new companion.

“It’s going to be so nice for him to have a younger sibling and because they’re quite close in age, they can grow up together,” she said in an August 2024 YouTube video. “I always wanted a sibling that was really close in age and I didn’t have that, so I want to do that for River.”

Indeed, Sophia Grace has embraced every aspect of motherhood—including the more challenging moments.

“Mom life obviously has its hard parts,” she told E! News in February 2024, “but overall I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
