Have you heard about the latest trendy tool that combines beauty and wellness?

In case your FYP doesn’t look like ours, here’s the TLDR on The FaceTub: it’s an ice face bowl that allows for long term immersion thanks to integrated breathing tubes.

According to the brand, benefits include: reduced inflammation of the face, mental clarity and energy support, plus stress regulation.

Plus, it’s loved by celebrities! Kevin Jonas shouted it out as a product that came into his life in 2025, but Joe Jonas told E! he gets credit for discovering it and bringing it into Kevin and Nick‘s life.

“The FaceTub, I’ve kind of brought that into my brothers’ lives and now it’s like everywhere. It seems like everyone seems to be using it,” Joe said.

We’ve heard about the benefits of cooled and chilled products for your face for years, from traditional ice rollers to keeping skincare in the fridge, so we tapped celebrity esthetician Danielle Gamble to weigh in with her thoughts about what makes a FaceTub so different and if it’s really something we should be adding to cart (and using on our face).

For all of the insights from Gamble on The FaceTub and what the benefits of icing your face really are, keep reading.

Do You Need a FaceTub?

Gamble says… yes! But keep in mind you would have to use it “regularly” to see consistent results from the product.

“If you’re regularly dunking your face, yes this could be beneficial. This approach supports circulation, can help reduce puffiness, and delivers the calming benefits of cold exposure without triggering a stress response from holding your breath.”

She adds that whether or not you should consider purchasing this “depends, if you’re dunking regularly it’s great.”

What Are the Benefits Of Icing Your Face?

“Icing the face is a simple yet effective way to reduce inflammation and puffiness, especially in the morning when facial swelling is at its peak. It’s a great quick step before applying skincare to calm the skin and create a refreshed, more sculpted appearance,” Gamble says.

While iced water or chilled water is okay to use, Gamble cautions against directly applying ice to your face, via The FaceTub or other tools.

“The main downside is improper use. Ice should never be applied directly to the skin, this can lead to irritation or broken capillaries. Cold tools or cool water are safer alternatives, and anyone with rosacea should skip icing and stick to gentle cooling instead.”

More Cooling & Depuffing Skin Tools

There are even more cooling and depuffing skin tools out there that can give similar effects, but Gamble says there is one main difference between these and The FaceTub.

“Ice rollers provide targeted cooling, meaning you’re working one area at a time. Dunking your face in cold water treats the entire face at once. It’s a similar concept to using an LED wand versus an LED mask- same benefit, different level of coverage,” she explains.
