Who is Alysa Liu? The Olympic Figure Skater Gliding Into Fans’ Hearts

Tara Lipinski is faithfully committed to all of her endeavors.

The Olympic gold medalist shared an empowering message about following her professional pursuits while raising her 2-year-old daughter Georgie—whom she shares with husband Todd Kapostasy—as she serves as a figure skating analyst at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games.

“Maybe I don’t want to choose,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories Feb. 6 alongside photos of herself carrying the toddler on her shoulders. “For so long, women weren’t given that option. I want my daughter to see a mother who chases her dreams and shows up fully for her.”

“I can do both,” the 43-year-old continued, “in my own way at the same time.”

After winning a gold medal in figure skating at the 1998 Winter Olympics, Tara launched a career in broadcasting, eventually joining Terry Gannon and Johnny Weir as a commentator during the 2014 Games. In fact, becoming a mom in 2023 only fueled her desire to succeed in her career.

“I want my daughter to grow up watching her mom pursue her dreams and enjoy the work she is passionate about,” she told Modern Wellness Guide in 2024, “so she knows her future dreams also have no limits.”

Nonetheless, family comes first for Tara, who noted that “quality time with Georgie will always be the priority for me.”

Instagram Stories

In fact, Tara recently shared that she almost gave up her spot on The Traitors’ ongoing fourth season due to her concerns about being away from her little girl.

“That was really the only reason I would have said no,” she told People in an interview published Jan. 31. “After a while we made the setup work where I felt like I was going to be able to check in and FaceTime Georgie. But it was difficult to be away. She was only a year and a half [old] at that point.”
