Josh Allen Breaks Down in Tears After Buffalo Bills Loss
Josh Allen is laying it all out on the field.
Following the Buffalo Bills’ 33-30 NFL divisional playoffs loss to the Denver Broncos Jan. 17, which officially eliminated the team from the Super Bowl, the quarterback got candid about his post-game disappointment.
“It’s extremely difficult,” Josh, 29, said through tears during a postgame press conference Jan. 17. “I feel like I let my teammates down tonight.”
Though Josh recently made NFL history by leading the Bills to their first road playoff win in over three decades during the Jan. 11 faceoff against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he reflected on how he wished it could have all ended differently.
“It’s been a long season,” Josh added in a separate video posted to X. “I hate how it ended. It’s going to stick with me for a long time.”
He also touched on what went wrong during the game.
“We can’t win with five turnovers,” the QB1 explained. “Fumbled twice, threw two [interceptions]. When you shoot yourself in the foot like that, you don’t deserve to win football games.”
Josh’s loss to the Broncos comes just days after he reacted to a circulating snap of wife Hailee Steinfeld wearing the Denver team’s gear at the 2016 Super Bowl.
At the time, he was unbothered about the Sinners actress’ former allegiance, telling CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson he had “no idea it was floating around.”
Tracy detailed the encounter in a Jan. 15 post on X, noting that the NFL pro “laughed,” and said his wife was “probably paid” to sit in on the game—which saw the Broncos defeat the Carolina Panthers. Josh went on to assure the reporter that he “definitely wasn’t going to bring it up at home.”

Hailee, also 29, may have supported other football teams in the past. But since she was spotted at one of the athlete’s games for the first time in 2023, the Oscar nominee made it clear that she’d always be team Josh.
Years into their romance, Hailee—who tied the knot with the pro football star in May 2025 before announcing that they were expecting their first baby together in December—emphasized how much she supports Josh’s career.
“To say the least, I am so proud of that man,” she told E! News last January. “Everything he’s done and everything that the team has done together, he is the hardest working person I know.”
The Edge of Seventeen star has also been clear about her plan to cheer her husband on in-person as much as she can.
“I try to organize my time so I can be where he is,” Hailee explained to Variety in October. “This time of year, I get to hunker down, slow down, support him and live life.”
