Jennifer Lopez Shares What Her Kids Max and Emme Really Think About Her Career (Exclusive)
Jennifer Lopez‘s kids aren’t getting loud with any advice for their mom.
In fact, the “Jenny From the Block” singer revealed her and ex Marc Anthony‘s 17-year-old twins Max and Emme have more pressing interests than the superstar’s career.
“It’s funny, my kids are not very involved with mom’s work,” Jennifer exclusively told E! News after the first night of her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace Dec. 30. “They’re like, ‘Work, come home, be home for dinner.’ That’s more what they’re concerned about.”
Indeed, the teenagers are understandably much more interested in J.Lo’s role as their mom.
“‘Mom, are you going to be here on the weekend?'” she teased. “‘Can we do this? Can we do that?'”
And although her kids are musically inclined, they’re focusing on other things. “It’s a different life,” J.Lo continued. “It’s separate. It’s very separate.”
Emme and Max may not be hitting the floor with the “Let’s Get Loud” singer during her Up All Night Live—which marks Jennifer’s return to Sin City following her 2016 All I Have residency at Planet Hollywood—they will be cheering her on from the sidelines.
“They came to the rehearsal yesterday,” the 56-year-old added. “They’re here today and will be tomorrow. They’re fans, they’re sweet. They’re proud of their mama.”
And Jennifer—who settled her divorce from Ben Affleck in January after two years of marriage—is grateful for the support as she kicked off her latest concert series, nearly a decade after her residency debut.
“It’s a totally different show and that was the goal,” she explained. “So, the show had to evolve. Vegas is a very specific audience and crowd. It’s very diverse. People are coming here to see all kinds of shows. And so, I’m really conscious of that when I’m putting a show together.”
The Kiss of the Spider Woman star isn’t afraid to say what she thinks during her performances, either. In fact, she even addressed those who’ve criticized her for her revealing concert outfits. As she told fans while onstage, “If you had this body, you’d be naked, too!”

For Jennifer, the banter has been an exciting addition to her performance.
“It’s just a really fun time for me,” she told E!. “I don’t think there’s anything left to prove. I don’t feel like I have to go out there and do this or that.”
“I can just be myself,” she continued. “I was a different person 10 years ago when I did the show. I have grown a lot. I say that right at the beginning of the show. You’re seeing me now, a different person than I was then.”
