Wicked star Cynthia Erivo arrived on the red carpet of Wicked: For Good’s New York City premiere Nov. 17 in a jaw-dropping look that proved she is, in fact, that girl.

Cynthia Erivo Speaks Out After Ariana Grande Fan Incident at ‘Wicked’ Premiere

Cynthia Erivo’s red carpet look should be held in high esteem.

The Wicked: For Good actress attended the New York film premiere of the Broadway adaptation’s second act in fashion-forward style that would make Glinda the Good go green with envy.

For the Nov. 17 outing, Cynthia donned an all-black Balenciaga gown with a cropped leather top, which featured draped feathers around the hem and on the leather long-sleeves. The black satin bodice and train of the dress flowed down in majestic fashion and trailed behind her as she walked.

Perhaps the most eye-popping part of the 38-year-old’s look, though, were the large-framed, futuristic sunglasses that she sported while posing on the premiere’s black carpet.

While Cynthia turned heads during the New York premiere, it’s certainly not the first time on the Wicked: For Good tour where her fashion has defied gravity. Indeed, for the London premiere of the film Nov. 10, she sported a custom navy Prada gown with black leather sleeves and trim, which she paired with a leather belt around her waist.

But perhaps her most viral fashion moment so far was when a fan named Clara reunited the Tony Award winner with her Schiaparelli hat that she left behind at last year’s London premiere.

“We deserve each other,” Cynthia wrote, referencing lyrics from the Wicked track “Dancing Through Life,” on Instagram Nov. 11 alongside a video of her wearing the cap. “Thank you very much Clara!!”

Beyond being passionate about her red carpet style for Wicked, Cynthia has been vocal about the bond she built with costar Ariana Grande throughout her experience as Elphaba, describing herself and the “Positions” singer as “opposite sides of the same coin.”

“We each have something the other can love and can see themselves,” the Color Purple alum told Today’s Sheinelle Jones in a joint interview with Ariana published Nov. 12. “It’s super just honest with each other.”

And Ari—who also stars alongside Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Marissa Bode and Ethan Slater—agreed with her counterpart.

“To be able to act with this one and to share a space and to be a scene partner with you was the greatest privilege of my professional life,” Ariana added. “Let alone sing with her, the greatest singer in the entire world. I’m spoiled for life.”

In response, Cynthia tearfully added, “Thank you. I love you.”
