Now that Fashion Month has officially wrapped for the season, one big question remains: what beauty trends are we taking home with us?
Named for the series of week-long fashion events and runway shows in New York City, London, Milan, and Paris, Fashion Month is when beauty and style aficionados everywhere analyze what’s next.
Whether these trends are brand new, have been building for a while, or are making a major comeback, one thing’s for sure—it’s never boring. And while “fashion” may be in the name, beauty is never far behind.
Instead of you combing through all the Fashion Month beauty analysis out there, we did the hard work for you. We spoke to Lori Taylor Davis, the Global Pro Lead Artist for Smashbox Cosmetics, to break down all the trends we saw pop up during this time, help us decide which ones are worth keeping, and how to recreate them at home.
From shimmery gold eyes and bold lips to glowy skin and warm blushes, keep scrolling to shop our recommendations and tips on how to achieve these looks—straight from a professional makeup artist with decades of experience.
Chromatic Lids
While it’s a fall and holidays staple, we also saw plenty of gold and shimmery eyes during the various fashion weeks this past month. “Shimmery lids and pops of chrome elevate any look,” Davis says. “I loved the golden eyeliner and lashes look at the Ulla Johnson show, as well as the statement gold flecks on the eyes at the Prabal Gurung show.”
Smashbox Always On Cream Eye Shadow Stick
The key to recreating this gold moment is an easy-to-use shadow stick. After priming the lids and applying a subtle matte shadow in the crease to create depth, Davis recommends just adding your fave all over your eyelid. “Smashbox’s new Always On Cream Eyeshadow Stick in Trouble is my go-to because it’s creamy, blendable, and gives that perfect icy-sheen payoff.”
Smashbox Metal FX Metallic Eye Liner
For even more bang, Davis recommends adding a gold or metallic eyeliner to your lashline or waterline. Bonus points if it’s a slightly different (or darker) shade of gold to create a more interesting, dimensional look!
Rabanne Famous Topcoat Mascara
To top it off, the pro MUA recommends adding mascara to “open up the eyes.” And while you can opt to apply any black mascara you already have in your collection, why not be extra and add even more sparkle to your look with this top-coat that features silver and gold sparkles throughout?
Radiant Skin
When it comes to the skin, we saw makeup artists opt for a clean and radiant look. “Glowy, hydrated skin was an essential part of the SS26 runways, just like it’s an essential part of everyday makeup looks. Chanel sent models down the runway with minimal makeup and radiant complexions,” Davis said.
Smashbox The Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Oil-Free Primer
The key to every good base is a good primer that leaves your skin smooth, natural, and perfect—a canvas ready for anything! “This is the starting point to any great makeup application. Prep with Smashbox’s Original Photo Finish Primer to minimize texture and ensure a smooth and flawless application,” Davis says.
Smashbox Halo Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 25
The key word for this look is glowy and radiant. While there’s plenty of medium-to-high coverage foundations that promise that, they’re not so easy to nail. Davis recommends going for a tinted moisturizer, instead, like this one by Smashbox—it’s perfect for that lightweight, radiant coverage we’re looking for.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Longwear Setting Powder
Believe it or not, powder is important even if you want a glowy look. “Set with translucent powder, concentrating on the T-zone to avoid over-powdering,” Davis says. The Laura Mercier loose setting powder is a classic option—just make sure you only powder where you’re the oiliest so the look lasts.
Bold Lips
A lot of the looks this past Fashion month featured a bold lip and a bare face. They featured a variety of shades and tones from a cool vivid pink to a blue red. You can’t go wrong with any choice you make, here! “A bold lip is the ultimate power move. We saw this at the Chloe show with models wearing neon pink lipstick and at Tom Ford with models wearing glossy bright red lips,” Davis shared.
Smashbox Always On Longwear Matte Liquid Lipstick
When it comes to matte liquid lips—we’re already seeing them back a huge comeback—and this formula by Smashbox was always a favorite. Davis recommends this in the shade “Girl Gang,” she describes it as a “gorgeous plum shade that stands out.”
Smashbox Halo Plump + Glow Hyaluronic Acid Lip Gloss
We’ve got gold in the eyes and the lips this season! Yellow in general has been trending lately when it comes to the lips (that viral Prada lip balm, anyone?), so this really isn’t a surprise. Davis recommends the clear with gold shimmers shade, Glimmer, saying: “I love to add this on top of a matte lipstick for a high-shine golden.”
Sacheu Lip Liner STAY-N Peel Off Lip Stain
If you’re anywhere near beauty spaces online, you know stains have been trending like crazy lately. We saw lots of red in the runways this season too. Combine the two, and we’d recommend this peel-off lip liner made extremely viral by a songwriting pop legend.
Warm Blushes
Another trend we’ve seen, made even more apparent by their appearance on the runway. “Warm, sun-kissed cheeks dominated SS26 runways. Peachy, terracotta, and coral tones give a healthy, radiant glow. There’s nothing like a flush that feels alive,” Davis says. The difference is we saw these bold warm blushes used really strategically on the cheeks, instead of a color-all-over we’ve all been putting on. “We saw this trend at shows like Kim Shui and Michael Kors.”
Smashbox Hot STX Blush Stick
For that strategic placement, you need either need a smaller brush or a precise cream blush stick—and this Smashbox blush cream is pigmented and precise enough for it! Davis recommends either the shades Hi-fi Heat or Poopy Pic. “I love these creamy blush sticks that are highly pigmented but blend out easily,” she says.
NYX Fat Cheeks Dewy Liquid Blush
There’s plenty of liquid blushes to choose from, but this one by NYX packs the intense pigment we’re looking for to recreate this look—with everything from an intense peach shade to a bold grape violet one.
Tower 28 GetSet Blur + Set Matte Powder Blush
Not a fan of cream or liquid blush? Powder blush can also work for this look! Tower28 blushes are famous for their bold colors and intense pigment, but this one—made in collaboration with beauty influencer Toni Bravo—is absolutely delicious.
