Many areas in Navotas got flooded this week due to heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong, as well as the high tide.

During his visit, Marcos ordered to speed up the repair of the navigational gate of the North Navotas Pumping Station (NNPS), which helps control floodwaters, according to the Presidential Communications Office.

Engr. Flocy Ismael, chief of the NNPS, said that the navigational gate was damaged on May 11 when a barge collided with it.

Doce said the navigational gate repair should be finished by August 8, although this also depends on the weather. —KG/VBL, GMA Integrated News
