President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address will last for more than an hour.
This was according to the Presidential Communications Office on Monday morning.
The PCO also said the President has already finished rehearsing his speech. On Sunday night, a short clip was released showing Marcos practicing his SONA.
The PCO said it would still depend on the weather this afternoon if Marcos will board a chopper going to Batasang Pambansa for SONA.
During a Kapihan sa Media in Washington D.C. last week, Marcos refused to provide specific details about his SONA. The President, however, said his fourth SONA would be different from his past speeches.
”You have to remember it’s the State of the Nation Address. And the state of the nation today is different from what it was last year and the year before that,” Marcos said.
”So, of course, necessarily it will be different. We will be talking about mainly the same things about the social projects of the government for people in need,” he added.
Marcos mentioned that he would talk about programs that he initiated and hopes to continue after his term ends in 2028.
Authorities, meanwhile, have not monitored any threats amid the Chief Executive’s SONA.
The Philippine National Police is currently on full alert status, as around 23,000 personnel have been deployed to secure this year’s SONA, including 16,000 from the police organization and 6,000 from other agencies. —AOL, VAL GMA Integrated News
