Christina Aguilera Has No Regrets About Her Dirrty Era!
Ladies, gentlemen, everybody ring the alarm again for Christina Aguilera.
The Grammy winner recreated a now-iconic outfit, first seen in her and Redman‘s 2002 “Dirrty” music video, while performing the song onstage at the Portola Music Festival in San Francisco Sept. 20.
Christina gave her 23-year-old style a modern twist, trading her leather chaps for a pair of bedazzled ones, which she combined with a black leather bodysuit with a jeweled overlay.
This may be the closest the 44-year-old has replicated her original ensemble from “Dirrty.” She has showcased similar styles while performing the song at several shows earlier in 2025, including during gigs in Las Vegas, the United Arab Emirates and Brazil.
And apparently, what a girl wants this year is to embrace nostalgia, as the “Beautiful” singer’s performance comes two months after she recreated another one of her iconic looks. While attending the West End premiere of Burlesque: The Musical in London, she wore an olive corset-style Versace gown—the same style she sported in the brand’s fall / winter 2003 campaign.
In 2022, Christina reflected on her style evolution and the backlash that erupted over “Dirrty,” which is from her album Stripped.

“I didn’t even think that there was anything wrong or upsetting or offensive about ‘Dirrty’ whatsoever,” she told Vogue. “I wanted this album to embrace every different part of being a woman—from feeling empowered, and strong, owning my sexuality, and not from what a guy thinks it should be.”
Christina noted how society holds women to certain standards when it comes to their looks.
“There’s such a rule book that we need to look a certain way, on a certain front, act a certain way, be sexy, not too sexy, be a good girl, but not too good, ’cause that’s boring,” she said. “There’s such a rule book that’s handed to us and I was given it since I was very, very little and the older I got, the more I realized, you’re either going to be a part of the problem or you’re gonna stand up against it and create your own story.”
