SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Four people of Mexican nationality were detained by the Coast Guard after the boat they were in was spotted off the San Diego coast Saturday morning.

The U.S. Coast Guard reports the Coast Guard Cutter Benjamin Bottoms crew stopped a 20-foot cabin-style boat at 9:02 a.m. Saturday that was in the Pacific Ocean about 10 miles off the coast of Point Loma in San Diego.

Benjamin Bottoms’ boarding team detained four adults that were on board, who all claimed Mexican nationality, according to the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard said all four people were transferred to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agency at Ballast Point.
