Taytay, Rizal – October 11, 2023

Imagine this: fashion made faster, smarter, and with way less waste. Clothes that don’t just look good but do good for the planet. And YOU—yes, you—playing a role in making it all happen. That’s what went down at the Innovation Forum: The Future of Fashion Manufacturing at TESDA Taytay

Organized by the Municipality of Taytay , Mayor Allan De Leon and the supercharged team at LEDIPO, this one-of-a-kind event brought together fashion leaders, tech experts, business champs, and future thinkers. The goal?
To show how Taytay—the Garments Capital of the Philippines—can become the Innovation Capital of Fashion, too.

So, What’s the Big Idea?

Welcome to the age of on-demand micro-factories. Sounds cool, right?

Here’s what they are (in real talk):

  •  Small but high-tech clothing production setups
  • Create only what’s needed—no overstock, no waste
  • Perfect for small businesses, homegrown brands, and eco-conscious creators
  • Fast, efficient, and planet-friendly

This is the future of fashion—and guess what? It’s already happening, and Taytay is jumping in!

Star Speakers = Big Inspiration

Let’s break down who rocked the stage and what we learned:

Mr. Cleo Marco Duran (DTI PD)
Gave us the inside scoop on programs helping small biz go digital and innovative!

Ms. Marissa C. Argentina (DTI-IVA)
Reminded us that innovation isn’t just for techies—it’s for tailors, designers, sewers, and YOU.

Ms. Raquel R. Malig (DTI Region 3) + Ms. Zaila F. Payag (PERO DOST)
Showed off the awesome tech and research available (like fabric testing, R&D, and production help!)

Mr. Andrea Negretti (Global Textile Pro!)
Brought the worldwide perspective—proving Taytay has what it takes to go global.

Learn It, Live It: Here’s What You Can Do

Whether you’re a student, seamstress, brand owner, or just someone who loves fashion—this forum gave us all real tools to work with:

Start learning about fashion tech
Upgrade your production with small changes (better machines, digital design, fabric-saving techniques)
Check out DTI and DOST programs—they’re FREE and super useful
Join groups like PCCI-Taytay—more connections = more chances to grow
Try sustainable materials and get creative with fabric scraps!

Power in Partnership

We also got major support from PCCI Rizal President Gladdie Mallari and PCCI-Taytay President Elmer Espiritu, who reminded everyone:

“When government, business, and the community work together, everyone wins.

From funding to mentorship to trade fairs—they’ve got your back.

Final Thoughts: Taytay’s Just Getting Started!

This forum wasn’t just an event—it was a movement.
A movement to build a greener, smarter, more stylish Taytay.

Fashion that’s powered by tech.
Factories that are small but mighty.
Entrepreneurs who are creative, brave, and ready to lead.

Whether you sew, sell, design, or dream—there’s a place for you in this future.
