Take a New York Minute to Enjoy Mary-Kate Olsen’s Rare Outing
Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen are having a New York minute.
The twins made a rare public appearance at W Magazine‘s cocktail party at Eleven Madison Park during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 11—and of course, they looked chic as ever for the occasion.
For the outing, Mary-Kate rocked an oversized white shirt and black pants with a colorful patterned scarf over top. To complete her stylish attire, she wore her light brown hair in long sleek waves.
And Ashley looked equally as fashion-forward for the event, which featured a DJ set by Mark Ronson. Giving her sister a run for her money, the Full House alum sported dark-wash jeans, a black long coat and a gray scarf. Additionally, she coordinated with Mary-Kate by wearing her hair in a similar waved style.
Of course, the 39-year-old siblings weren’t the only celebs to step out for the affair. Olivia Wilde, Tess Thompson, Tory Burch, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union were all in attendance as well.
Mary-Kate and Ashley’s cameo at the W Magazine party marked their first joint public outing since 2022, when they celebrated their fashion line The Row during its Paris Fashion Week show. They’d previously also appeared together at CFDA awards in New York City in 2019.
And while they may not pose for cameras at haute couture events very often, the duo have certainly kept busy behind the scenes. Back in November 2024, the pair opened a new store in Paris for The Row, which is also located in New York City, East Hampton, Los Angeles and London.

“We wanted to be in Paris before we opened in London, but we didn’t find anything here first,” Ashley—who is mom to 2-year-old son Otto with husband Louis Eisner—told Vogue of the venture one month before the location’s opening. “Then, 18 months ago, a friend told us about this place.”
After choosing the French locale, Mary-Kate said the business accomplishment was achieved through a lot of trial and error.
“We don’t really try to get it right,” she told Vogue in the joint interview. “We just try to learn.”
