OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Crews responded to a vegetation fire near Guajome Regional Park in Oceanside on Sunday, officials confirmed.

According to a Sig Alert from California Highway Patrol, the incident began around 12:45 p.m. with reports of a palm tree ablaze in the area of State Route 76 and Guajome Lake Road, which is near the entrance of the park.

Local authorities temporarily shutdown part of SR-76 due to response efforts. Oceanside Police said the blaze was quickly extinguished, with the fire only reaching approximately 100-square-feet.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported in connection to the incident. All roads have since reopened in the area.
