Dezeen Showroom: Australian brand Ross Gardam has created a pendant light defined by its teardrop-shaped shade, which is made using traditional glass blowing techniques.

Also available in a tabletop variation, the Solace pendant light comprises a static, ceiling-hung brass pole culminating in a glass shade.

The bulbous, tapered and ovoid shades are handmade made in Australia using time-honed glassblowing techniques, giving each piece a unique shape and surface texture.

“Through the exploration of geometric from, the interplay of two perpendicular, intersecting circles serve as the foundation for this intricate composition,” said Ross Gardam.

“Visually enchanting, Solace emerges from a series of experiments that use innovative engineering and push the boundaries of traditional glassblowing techniques,” the brand continued.

The pendant lights can be hung alone or in clusters of multiples.
