SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was rescued by San Diego Fire-Rescue crews after a car overturned near Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma on Friday morning.

Around 10:30 a.m., fire crews responded to the scene of an individual trapped inside a vehicle that had turned on its side at the intersection of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard and Adair Street.

Video shared with FOX 5/KUSI by viewer Ed Baier showed the vehicle involved was a red Hyundai Elantra that had landed on its driver side.

SDFD Battalion Chief James Diaz said emergency crews arrived to the scene in less than two minutes after receiving the initial call and immediately began extricating a man from the vehicle.

It took between 15 to 20 minutes to safely get him out of the car, Diaz added.

The man was taken to a local hospital with moderate, non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The San Diego Police Department will handle the investigation regarding the incident.
