Dezeen Showroom: Polish furniture brand Tylko has branched out from modular storage to produce its first seating design: a highly customisable sofa by industrial designer Krystian Kowalski.
Tylko describes Smooth as applying the brand’s made-to-measure mindset to sofas, with a modular design that allows for personalisation, practicality and durability.

As with the brand’s cabinets and shelving, the Smooth sofa can be fully customised using Tylko’s digital tool to adjust elements such as the layout, dimensions, fabric, colour and seat depth.
The sofa can be composed from a selection of over 20 modular components including standalone armchairs, ottomans and L-shaped modules. It is made with both pocket springs and high-density foam for long-lasting structure and softness.

“The ergonomic design makes the Tylko Smooth Sofa truly comfortable, and really sets it apart,” said Kowalski. “Every curve invites relaxation, and the modularity means it evolves with you – it’s not just about how it looks, it’s about how it lives with you.”
The Smooth sofa is built over a wood frame and features removable fabric covers, with textile options including Kvadrat’s Re-wool 2, made with 45 per cent recycled wool.
