Kristin Cavallari’s Ex Jay Cutler Reacts to Allegation That She “Hasn’t Gotten a Penny” in Divorce
Jay Cutler is gearing up to serve time.
The former Chicago Bears star was sentenced to four days in jail after pleading guilty to one count of misdemeanor DUI stemming from his October 2024 arrest in Franklin, Tenn., law enforcement sources told TMZ.
In addition to prison time, Jay—who shares kids Camden, 13, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, 9, with ex-wife Kristin Cavallari—was also ordered to pay a $350 fine, attend a DUI safety class and serve one year of supervised probation, according to the outlet’s sources.
Jay, 42, was also facing a second charge for possession of a handgun while under the influence in connection to his arrest, but the charge was dismissed after he forfeited the weapon, TMZ reported.
E! News has reached out to authorities as well as Jay’s rep for comment but has not heard back.
On the day of his arrest, officers described the NFL quarterback’s speech as “thick-tongued, slurred and mumbled” and his eyes as “bloodshot,” according to a police affidavit obtained by E! News at the time.
Jay also told police he hadn’t consumed any alcohol despite allegedly having “an overwhelming odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person,” though the document said he later admitted he’d had “a little bit.”
The affidavit also noted that Jay refused a field sobriety test, but later had his blood drawn at Williamson Medical Center.

While Jay has not discussed his arrest publicly, he recently spoke out about his ex’s “reckless” declaration that she didn’t benefit financially from their 2020 divorce.
“I think it’s borderline slander to insinuate that there was zero dollars split during the marriage that each side got,” he said on the Aug. 14 episode of his Take It Outside podcast. “It’s insanity and it’s completely false, completely untrue.”
Jay didn’t elaborate on his exact settlement with Kristin, but simply said, “I can guarantee you it’s definitely not zero dollars.”
E! News reached out to Kristin’s rep for comment at the time but did not hear back.

“It was so silly,” the bride-to-be tells E! News of their reconciliation. “I was in the airport, leaving Chicago. We had just spent however many days together and we were texting and somehow it came up, like, ‘Oh, shall we get married?’ We’re like, ‘Yeah, OK.’ And then he sent my ring in the mail. So I actually had my ring sitting at home for a couple of weeks before I put it on.”

Kristin’s brother, Michael Cavallari, is found dead in 2015. As she approaches the one-year anniversary of his passing, the Uncommon James CEO tells E! News exclusively that Jay has been her saving grace throughout the ordeal.
“It’s been tough, it’s been a roller coaster…I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hard,” she says, “I’m going to be with my family on the actual day, which hopefully will help. Talking about it is probably the most important thing so I’m lucky I have a great support system with my immediate family, with Jay and with my parents as well.”

The former couple shares the same message on Instagram, writing, “The world is full of users. 10 years. Can’t break that.” However, a source exclusively tells E! News nothing has changed between them. “They are friends and they are single. They will always have each other’s back,” the insider explains.
