Erosion tiles by Apavisa Porcelánico

Dezeen Showroom: designed by Spanish brand Apavisa, these tiles are decorated by metallic gold accents that simulate the natural patina created by oxidisation on cast iron.

The Erosion porcelain tiles feature a rich pattern that mimics rusted patches sometimes present on cast iron, creating a look similar to veined stone.

The series is available in a choice of three colours – Blue, Graphite and White – each of which combines dramatically with gold areas to give a visually rich surface.

Apavisa says the tile creates an aesthetic that is at once robust and sophisticated, and recommends it for a variety of contemporary interiors.

The Erosion series is completed with a lappato finish, which is an medium level of sheen between a matt and a gloss. The design is available in two large formats that can be applied to walls and floors.

Apavisa is part of Tile of Spain, an association of over 100 tile manufacturers.
