The Port of San Diego is hosting a career fair on Wednesday, featuring nearly 30 businesses with full and part-time job openings.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The Port of San Diego is hosting a hiring event featuring nearly 30 businesses with a variety of full and part-time job openings.

The third annual People of the Port Career Fair is happening on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at B Street Pier at 1140 N. Harbor Drive in San Diego.

The Port of San Diego is hosting the hiring event in partnership with San Diego Working Waterfront, Port tenants, and the San Diego & Imperial Counties Community Colleges Regional Consortium.

More than 25 businesses will be at the hiring event, looking to fill full and part-time job openings for various education, skill and experience levels, including:

  • Aquaculture
  • Cruise
  • Food
  • Hospitality
  • Maritime cargo
  • Military
  • Public Safety
  • Public Sector
  • Retail
  • Shipbuilding and ship repair
  • Transportation and automotive
  • Tourism and entertainment

The event organizers say the hiring event will feature breakout sessions with information on different industries and guidance on how to apply for a government job. Volunteers will also be available at the hiring event to support non-English language speaking individuals, such as Spanish, Tagalog, and Farsi. American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will also be on-site.
