Did Britney Spears Adopt a Baby Girl? Here’s the Truth
Oops!…Sam Asghari is seemingly throwing shade again.
Just over a week after Kevin Federline—who was married to Britney Spears from 2005 to 2007—announced his upcoming memoir about his rise to fame after marrying the pop superstar, the Traitors alum, who settled his divorce from the “Toxic” singer last May, reacted to the news.
“He was a professional father,” Sam quipped to TMZ on Aug. 16, “so it would be the first book that would tell you how to be a professional father.”
Upon announcing the release of his memoir You Thought You Knew, which is set to come out on Oct. 21, Kevin—who shares sons Sean, 19, and Jayden, 18, with Britney—promised that the book would, according to a press release, deliver the story of “fame, fatherhood and the private cost of public life—from one of pop culture’s most misunderstood figures.”
“This book is extremely intimate and transparent,” the 47-year-old—also dad to Kori, 21, and Kaleb, 19, with ex-fiancée Shar Jackson as well as Jordan, 12, and Peyton, 9, with wife Victoria Prince—continued in the press release. “I achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak, and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced nonstop emotional turbulence.”
As a result of this alleged “turbulence,” Kevin requested to relocate Sean and Jayden to live with him and Victoria in Hawaii back in May 2023. His attorney later confirmed to People that Britney had “consented.”
But since then, the “Baby One More Time” singer revealed that she and Jayden had a long-awaited reunion over the holidays—and the two continued to make up for lost time in the following months.
“I hadn’t seen him in 2 and half years or maybe 3 !!!” Britney wrote of her youngest on Instagram at the time. “I’m in shock !!! He came back and he feels older and smarter than me !!! He’s a man and I cry everyday of my life because of the miracle and genius he is !!! When he plays the whole earth shakes !!!””

For his part, Sam always expressed that he just wanted what’s best for Britney. In fact, he encouraged her to sign a prenup ahead of their June 2022 wedding.
“I wanted her to have a prenup,” he told host Jason Tartick during an episode of the Trading Secrets podcast in June. “I wanted to make sure she’s protected, because throughout her life, everybody—I don’t know one person that’s ever been in her life that didn’t take advantage of her.”
“It’s very sad,” he added. “I wanted to make sure that I’m the person that don’t do that.”

“Engagement has always been in the cards for Sam and Britney, without question,” the insider shared with E! News in September. “It’s the direction their relationship has been heading for nearly two years now. It’s always a discussion and it’s not a question of if, it’s when.”
The source explained further, “Things are evidently becoming better for Britney with her conservatorship and she’s never felt this liberated in all aspects of her life. The closer she gets to freedom, the closer she is to seeing all of her dreams become an actual reality. Marrying Sam is high on that list and loving him the way she wants, how she wants, on her own terms.”
She Said Yes!
On Sept. 12, 2021, the music superstar announced her engagement. In a video shared to Instagram, Brit showed off her bling as Sam asked, “Look at that! Do you like it?” “Yes!” she told him.

Parting Ways
Sam filed for divorce from Britney in August 2023.
“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote on Instagram Story Aug. 17. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.”
Their divorce was finalized in May 2024 and their marital status officially ended on Dec. 2, 2024—Britney’s 43rd birthday.
