Isla Fisher Shares An Update Amid Sacha Baron Cohen Divorce
Isla Fisher has some confessions as a newly single woman.
One month after the Wedding Crashers star Sacha Baron Cohen finalized their divorce, she shared insight into her life post-split.
“I’ve had a tough couple of years, but I’m making it through,” Isla admitted to Harper’s Bazaar Australia in an interview published July 31. “I’m really excited for the next chapter. I’m refocusing on my career.”
The Confessions of a Shopaholic actress, who shares two daughters and a son with the Borat star, noted that she was previously more focused on their kids than her career.
“I still am, obviously, because [they’re] my true love,” she emphasized. “But I’m enjoying tackling work again.”
Although Isla and Sacha’s breakup after 13 years of marriage wasn’t easy, she admitted that there have been some “benefits of a challenging situation.”
One of which, the 49-year-old explained, was “The luxury of asking myself, ‘What would I like to do professionally and privately?'”
“I’m trying to remind myself of my new identity as somebody outside of a partnership and to stay as buoyant as possible,” she continued. “Any time there’s change, it’s hard to adapt. But hopefully I’m doing an OK job.”
After the couple, who quietly filed for divorce in 2023, announced their separation last April, Isla had begun looking within amid the heartbreak.
“It’s the most difficult thing that I’ve been through and I’ve learnt so much about myself in the process,” she told The Sunday Times in February. “I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents.”

For Isla, it was her friendships, including hers with Courteney Cox and Kate Ritchie, that kept her afloat as she and Sacha, 53, navigated their breakup.
“The women in my life have held me,” she reflected. “I’m sitting here today because of them. I’ve learnt so much about the power of female friendship and I’ve just learnt that I do have resilience, who I am outside of a partnership, and what my values are. It’s been this expansive learning curve.”
