28 Years Later breaks the franchise records as it holds the highest opening weekend box office numbers out of the franchise, at $60 million worldwide. The film helmed by original director and writer duo Danny Boyle and Alex Garland also scored an 89% critic score in Rotten Tomatoes, beating its predecessors. 28 Years later is on its way to crash through more records as it’s on its way to becoming the most successful film from the 28 Days Later franchise.28 Years Later explores the world almost three decades after the rage virus broke quarantine and ravaged humanity. Survivors living amongst the infected find a haven in Holy Island, a landmass protected by water and only accessible through a causeway that floods for most of the day. 28 Years Later breaks the franchise records as it holds the highest opening weekend box office numbers out of the franchise, at $60 million worldwide.
