SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Padres closer Robert Suarez on Tuesday was added to Major League Baseball’s National League All-Star team.
Suarez replaces Atlanta Braves pitcher Chris Sale on the active roster, MLB announced on X, formerly known as Twitter.
So far this season, the 34-year-old Venezuelan has two wins and four losses, recording 40 strikeouts and 25 saves with a 3.82 ERA in 40 games.
Suarez made his first All-Star Game last season.
Other 2025 All-Star selections for the Padres include third baseman Manny Machado, outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. and pitcher Jason Adam.
The 2025 All-Star Game will take place at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia on July 15.
