A brush fire that burned at Oceanside Municipal Airport Saturday was put out after burning three acres, first responders said.

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A brush fire that burned at Oceanside Municipal Airport Saturday was put out after burning three acres, first responders said.

The blaze occurred in vegetation just west of the airport around 1:46 p.m., the Oceanside Fire Department said in a news release.

The fire quickly spread onto airport property, causing air traffic operations to temporarily shut down for safety, per fire officials.

Crews were able to contain the roughly three-acre fire and stop forward progress within an hour and a half.

One fire investigator suffered a bee sting but did not need medical transport. No other injuries or damaged structures were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
